So anyway I was at a braai on Sunday and felt something bite me on my leg under the table. I reached down and brushed it off. Don't know what is was, but it felt biggish and there was a bit of blood on my leg. Looked around for it, but could not find anything.

Was a bit itchy that night, but today it looks like this :(

First instinct is spider bite, but I recon it was a flying insect.

Any ideas? Should I maybe see a doctor :p

Just wait it out. Gimme another photo in 24 hours. You should still be alive by then,... its been yonks since you were bitten in any case.

Edit:
And I have to ask... Was it Charlie by any chance?

Is that your leg? Looks dead...no blood flow there. Maybe you need to step outside for a sec:D

Err no :erm:

Us geeks don't do sun :D

I would ignore it and wait for it to go away. I've had a similar bite before. Just people saying I should seek medical advice. Bunch of sissies :p

I would be at a doctors already demanding that they slice the bite open to take a look at what's going on under the surface.
I have seen a friend loose an entire foot from an innocent looking bite on his big toe, the bite on his toe only looked bad after 3 days when the foot went blackish.

Though, the thigh is a lot more sensitive than a foot.

i was bitten in the the inside of my arm when we were in USA last year and it started out like that and progressed to small water blisters then progressed to my flesh being eaten away and because it was so deep and raw i had trouble sleeping or using my arm. It ended up being quite a deep hole my arm and took months to heal and we never found out what it was.

Vampire bat...you'll start developing longer canine teeth tomorrow & the thirst starts the day after. Stay away from garlic ;)

Its probably harmless, but I'd get that checked out nonetheless because if you're unlucky it could be really bad. My Granddad was bitten by a spider w/ venom that chows the surrounding tissue. Doc ended up cutting a massive chunk out of the leg.

Doctors/Hospital will struggle to treat it though if they have no clue what caused it.

If you ignore the advice above then at least measure it to make sure its not growing. k?

Well when I brushed it off my thirst thought was that it felt like a large flying insect. Makes sense since I could not find any sign of it as mentioned when I looked for it. Maybe a horse fly?

I guess it's possible that a spider lowered itself from under the table onto my leg :erm:

Will see what it looks like tomorrow :p

your legs are like mine except mine glow in the dark if i wear a skirt outside and they get the sun.

you may be right about the Horsefly, i found an identikit for you.

Have you never seen those American shows where they show people who do stupid things.

One was a person who got bit but decided to rather wait until the arm was completely black before going to the doctor. Needless to say bye bye arm.

My advice is go to the doctor asap (I'm no sissy and hardly ever go to the doctor) the amount of money you pay won't be able to buy a new leg.

I could just be paranoid but heck I won't take chances.
