Damn. I've done that on my machine twice already - about to do it again on a clean machine - with no hassles.

Simple really. I installed 2005 alongside 2003. Neither worked at that point. I uninstalled BOTH, and re-installed 2005. 2005 did not work. Uninstalled 2005, reinstalled 2003 - 2003 does not work.

I also got into that situation once. Formatted the PC in the end to get it all to work again. I was also not a happy camper as well.

Has anyone installed this build of Virtual Server? The install keeps failing with a registry permission error (on XP SP2). I'm going to try it on SBS 2003 later.

Why not rather get VMWare? People using that seems pretty happy.

See, now I have a problem with VMWare. Every time I install it, I end up uninstalling it again, because the drivers it installs crach my machine - regularly. Uninstall fixes the crashing.

I had a similar problem. May not be the same, but in my case a windows update (read: windows "farkup") corrupted my USB settings. The particular mobo would NOT run with usb2.0. Anyways, if I disabled USB on VMWare, all was fine.
