Hi

Is there anybody else seeing slow speeds/intermittent connectivity.

I'm in Durban Glenwood area, this morning signal was fluctuating from GSM only to sos(no signal at all)
Nobody else has CellC around me, so I'm not sure if it's only me or everybody or just this area.

Regards
Keegan

I'm in Rynfield, Benoni and I've experienced the same kind of problems. At one point, I had to roam on Vodacom just so that I could get some reception!

Boksburg jozi. Same. I tried switching my APN settings from RBM to Cell C. Big improvement. But still Cell C :-\

my dads got cellc, stay near glenwood school.

Annnnnddd its not only you, this morning i could not even get world of tanks to stay connected. The internet was fully connected (-60db, really awesome signal) but ping was 999 instead of 200-233

only after 2 pc restarts and leaving it off a bit watching cricket, tried again and it was fine. I think there's .... too many people at home :P or some techy unplugged the wrong thing.

but seriously, if you check other threads, cellc are struggling with throughput in all areas.

Cell C signal has gone to hell here in St Francis, Eastern Cape. I normally have a great connection at the family beach house here. Latency is 500+ms, speeds are dipping below 1Mbps and I need to manually redial a million times a day.

Edit: I updated the dongle's firmware and the connection is flying! Hopefully it will stay like this now.

Hi Bryn26, please PM me if you experience any issues. *DM*

Anyone trying to use Cell C in Durban beachfront? There is literally little to no connectivity but signal :(

Have you seen Durban's beaches today. Lots of people, limited base stations.

Hahaha I saw it...I took a photo of it from my hotel room...I am quite shocked. My WhatsApp messages take about 3 - 4 minutes to send (just plain text, no images, etc). I hope tomorrow will be better...

I've spoken to a number of people around SA on Cell C and it seems like the network is basically broken. No connectivity at many of the popular holiday destinations. This has been such an inconvenience to me that I'm tempted to change providers. My monthly Straight Up contract means that I can switch quite quickly.

Pity, good pricing, but just an unreliable network.

Have already ported away from Cell C & definitely should've done it sooner

I'm not going to port away from Cell C just yet. I really hope they can fix all their problematic network area's. Cell C in Durban beachfront has gotten better now...probably due to the large masses of people leaving the beachfront.

Good luck with that.

I have tried to cancel my account with no luck after phone call and emails.
I will have to go today in the shop and ask for access so I can do it myself :)

Email cancellation is a terrible idea. I'll probably just visit my nearest branch, which isn't much nuisance. The terms of my contract with Cell C are clear - if they want to throw money away that's up to them. I've been down that road with Outsurance and justice prevailed, and I don't mind doing it again.

Thank you for your feed back, That is exactly where I am as well.
Opposite the high school...

Maybe @Cell_C can get the tech's to have a look in this area.

Tanks.

Things have improved drastically in St Francis; ie. the internet actually works.

I'm really disappointed that Cell C can't handle demand in one of the most popular holiday spots in the Eastern Cape. It's not cool that you have to wait for most people to leave.
