as much as id love to say these speeds are correct they are not.

i downloaded from ftp.is and ftp.saix as well as few other places to check and line is definitely running at 4megs.

also latencys are way higher than normaly on speedtest.
generally i get 40ms std.

so speedtest might not be as reliable as we think.
I have also had latency problems with Telkom.

Speedtest has updated their site with a gaming test.

Hmmm. That is odd! How does speedtest.net work? Maybe your browser cached the download file or something. Maybe if you clear you cache it would be more accurate.

But I woulda thought it downloads something random each time:confused:

could be a cache problem or maybe, ...

Maybe Telkom realised everyone is using that site and prioritized the connection there ;)

Have you tried connection to another server/location?

I find that the test is a bit more accurate when I connect to Europe

hi I test the speed of my internet in many sites I got the best speed results from here ip-details
my results are
download=1.09kbps
upload=0.87kbps
I dont know the reason why my speed seems to be slow many of them said that if Cable Internet services share bandwidth with satellite Internet access.
If there are many subscribers using that same bandwidth, it can slow down the connection.
kindly guide me how to solve this problem .

Sometimes there is something wrong with the server you are testing to, other times it could be a timing issue in the version of flash you have installed that affects the reported speeds.

If it is the server, gzip compression is probably turned on server side.
If it is not the server, its definitely something with how flash runs on your pc, causing timing issues, causing incorrect calculations.
