So this last 6months has been hell with the recession and it looks like I will be heading back to university/tech in january(for lack of better options which i don't think is gonna make it any better to be honest but such is life).

Anyway what I was curious about was, is there any volunteer/hobby like activities that aren't costly to take part in, in cpt? Need something to keep busy with as doing nothing is starting bug the crap out of me. So yah, if you know about anything please list it.

thanks

Start surfing. I started again recently after 5 years off and feel better than ever. Or a join a gym like The Zone that costs about R100/month.

Going to gym again from august onwards so looking forward to that :)

If you're looking for volunteer work there are animal and human shelters/charities you could approach.

is there not something like a big brother project here like they have in the states?

but yes spca could also work. otherwise check with your local old-age home as they also always needs help

When I lived in CT and didn't have a cent to my name while studying - I just used to climb lion's head every other day. Great exercise - great fun. Night climbs are even better!

the mountain's kinda slippery at the moment.. i think minimum you need about 5 dry days or more before going up
