Received my two invoices, contract that already ended shows Cell C owes me money, the other contract 'Straight Up 50 TopUp' price has suddenly increased from R59 to R64. Seems to be a glitch in Cell C's billing system. Anyone else with similar issues?

Jip my monthly bill went up R10. Can't say that I will continue my contract when it expires in September.

my straight up 100 also went up. surely if you sign a 2 year contract the price should be fixed for that period?

But this is robbery!
When you signed up say for R59 over 24 months it should stay like that until your contract ends.
Another case for ICASA.

Is it not funny that ance a person starts asking difficult questions the reps disappear?

Cell C please answer us.

We have adjusted pricing on some of our products. In some cases, prices increased marginally, and in others, prices were reduced or additional value was added. Cell C’s products remain competitive. ^DM

Hey Cell C rep.

Please tell me why you have increased my monthly fee, which is now not what I agreed and signed up for?

When/if I renew my contract, I will decide if I want to pay the R10 extra. but as for now, explain how you are able to change my fees which were contractually signed!

I am also furious right now.... My bill also went up R10. I am in a signed 24 month contract how can Cellc just decide that they increase my fee? This is not legal is it?

I thought the changes will only count for new contracts because existing clients can't really cancel and go elsewhere...

Sickening to be honest....

I think you guys should fight them on this. I'm not with Cell C though.

If they can get away with even a small change in price on a signed contract, they can technically arbitrarily change the price to anything they choose without your consent.

I'm on topup with VC. they can change the call rates but not what I get billed every month. They cannot suddenly charge me R340 and still only give me R315 airtime.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw that mybb reported price increases for Cellc. I have a openline and topup contract and both went up by R10. I just don't understand how they can legally do it. If I want to cancel I have to pay a penalty but they can just increase the price if they want...

I've just PM'd Cell C rep...

Hey Rep

Please explain how and why this happened. and how it is legally possible. There are many on this forum who would like answers, and many others in this country that would love to also know.

Please get back to me, so I can pass the message on to others. Do not reply with '2015 price increase b*ll****. Yes I am aware of that, and understand it can be done for NEW contracts, but for existing contracts, not a chance!

Just went into a store to query this. And it's in the terms and conditions. 2.1 - charges. Basically says the subscription fee may change during the contract period, and the person would be notified.
I was not shown the T&C's that I signed, but she says it's always been the same.
Still think we can fight this though. How to go about it though....

That's really agterbaks - so they can technically make the prices whatever they want and get away with it with no repercussions whatsoever? Sneaky :( :(

I understand a contract is a legally binding document, but that clause is really open to abuse which isn't a good thing for consumers
