Something wrong with Vodacom's mail servers?

I'm trying to download my Vodamail, but it's constantly prompting me for a password.

Something wrong??
 
I have been getting the same on Evolution on Ubuntu...but mine seems to be with sending mail. It receives fine but when it comes to sending it keeps asking for password for my smtp server. Since Friday...but today seems to be fine...although have only sent one or two mails.
 
You dont need a password for outgoing mail if you are already on the Vodacom network, e.g. connected via a Vodafone 3G modem or router.

I can send from the Vodamail account on my iPhone, but as soon as I want to run it via Outlook on my notebook, it prompts for a password. I'm stumped.
 
I am connected using ADSL and in Evolution you need to put in a password for smtp or else it does not work. I thought of calling 082155 but as soon as you tell them you are using Linux then their balls jump into their body and that is the end for you!!! hehehe.

Nah - they are fscked ... not even www.vodacom4me.co.za works.

I noticed it a while ago, but decided to wait for someone to call and point it out. Calling the Vodacom call centre is one sure of way of ruining my entire night ;)
 
I can't access the Vodacom home page, let alone VC4Me.
Someone has really screwed up badly.
I would not even attempt to phone the call centre.
So much for their newly designed site.
VC, you are digging your own grave.
Can't wait for the Comsumer Protection Law later this year to have my contract cancelled.

That's a bit harsh.....

I've been with Vodacom now for almost two years and this is the first time the mail server is giving me problems. I'm sure they'll fix it soon.
 
Speak of the devil....my Vodamail seems to be working again. Hooray! :)

Sorry for the late reply.There was a problem yesterday but it has since been resolved. i have also tested it this morning successfully .
