What we should be grateful for.

I just watched an episode of Extreme Home. This guy has an awesome life, kids, good wife and on the day his daughter is born he's in an accident that stuffs him up permanently. I mean completely, if you watched the show you'll know what i mean.

I just thought when I saw what he wants, he just wanted to be able to be home and tuck his daughter in at night It made me think sometimes we need to stop and count what we have. And he's not the only person in that state.

I moan about my graphics card not being good or my PC is not powerful enough. But hey i can walk, i can run, i can see out of both eyes, my face is straight, my ears work. Just a thought....

So yeah, this thread is about stopping <HERE> for 2 mins, thinking about what you have thats GOOD and then carry on ranting and raving about our useless bandwidth :)

EMO!!!!

lol no ways man you are 100%. the story in the star today really got to me. The botched hijacking with that lady that was shot...and the picture has the husband over his wifes body.that made me so depressed for the afternoon.....

now i need to get of my lazy @ss and get me a wife.

p.s - everyone stop complaining about Telkom for one evening :p

Watch "The Road" - you will be grateful for a Coca Cola and 2 cans of baked beans and spam.

Its easy to say, especially after witnessing some of the less fortunate people..
sad fact is, we take alot for granted. And most of us always will, whatever we have, we usually want more, or something different.

I guess all we can do is try help those less fortunate where possible, try get some perspective, and try face things like a man when you do get knocked down

back on thread, I think we do take a lot for granted. I am glad I am alive and have good health.

What if you've been given every advantage if life. You're attractive, you're smart, you've got a loving family, you've got money... However, you suffer from depression. Does you're suffering from depression make you a sissy? You also self conscious, and shy etc.

Meh, in any case, bad things happen to good people, that's life.

Whilst others problems may seem trivial, for them they could be massive.
Perspective is important.

yeah touching movie ... Problem is we reference our gratitude based on other's success and forget there are people looking up to what we have achieved. I have this friend who has a 4Mil paid off house by the beach, a 2bed paid off townhouse in the city center, and another 2bed he recently bought and drives a range rover and is only 2years older than i am. I then think to myself, whats wrong with me? But realize i have people who look up to me and dream to own the only 2bed flat i already have and drive the entry level BMW i have. Lets appreciate!!

No. As said, perspective is everything. Sometimes that person just needs to be reminded of what they have..

We should be greatful for what we have and not take advantage of the good people and things in our life. Stuff happened over the weekend and a really close and awesome friendship nearly came to an end. I am just so glad its all gonna be ok now. Makes me feel a 100 times more greatful now...

Nice post, OP.

Yes, I have so much more than some other folks and I am not nearly grateful enough. Thanks for yanking me back to reality :)
