SONA 2015

Does he actually do anything he says in the sona? Besides the idiotic changes that only benifit him?

For years we hear... Corruption will be dealt wit, crime will be dealt with. Jobs will be created. The electricity crises will be handled.

Why spent the money on this circus if he does absolutely nothing he says he will.

In 2010 and 2014 he committed to the passing of the ISMO bill.

The ANC buried the ISMO bill a couple weeks ago.

Anyone catch the uncensored version they aired on E-TV? Some woman shouted some pretty colourful language on air lol. Don't think she realised they would air it just after the show.

Heard some moron shouting AMANDLA after the EFF (who were pretty much exclusively black) were ejected...

And the constitutional violation by the speaker and chairperson of the NCOP?

I don't think it's serious. I think DA should have raised the issue later on after this session. Maybe taken the relevant people to court.

I think it was more of the people in charge not being sure how to respond and not a purposeful show of force to shut the opposition up. The DA et al were not expected to pose a problem.

Wow.

It was serious.
Armed police into the chamber is deadly serious.

Intent is serious. If these cops were armed on purpose to show the DA and others that if they also try something funny now and in the future the same may await them, that's one issue. It's probably just a mistake.

Unknown armed men escorting an opposition party out of Parliament because the speaker of the house disagrees with them isn't serious? What the **** are you on man, cos I want some!

EDIT: FOR THE SECOND TIME!

POTENTIAL problems?
Wow.
If you spin any faster, can we connect a generator to you?

Haha. Dude always be diplomatic, at least. :)

By all means as said I think the DA etc should have let the session end and then afterwards responded over the whole use of armed people. But what they did was also not critically bad either.

I don't think anyone expected Marikana to end the way it did. Stuff escalates quickly as we've seen. Too many hotheads.

By staying they would have lent legitimacy to proceedings that by that point had already descended into unconstitutional farce.

They left because the Speaker and Chairperson failed to answer a legitimate question about who had come into the chamber.

What else could they do? I'm not supporting the ANC but what else? Use unarmed men? Sure.

If you cause trouble in a court the judge will use armed men to expel you and even arrest you. What makes these MPs more important than a common pleb? Yes they have diplomatic immunity but if the common man can be removed, who in principle is an equal to an MP, then what? I know a court is different but we're all equal. This is pretty unprecedented. I think the people who ordered this did not have a proper procedure to deal with this.

They will return to parliament though or will they all resign and call for new elections?

I know what you mean but sometimes discretion....
