That's why I believe arts and culture must be a provincial competency or at the highest, a directorate at national level.
Lump it into another portfolio. Consolidation and less ministers is overdue. Some of these posts are like a Zim minister of harbours.

Sport as well as "arts and culture". Not much being done for "arts and culture", just awards ceremonies and music festivals.

I would suggest it is a million times more important that the vast majority learn to read, spell and manage basic maths as opposed to spending huge amounts of money on an intellectual few.

Besides - where tf are they going to find teachers to teach coding and robotics at every school ?
From Cuba and China. Afterall employing locals can't happen either because they are too stupid or the wrong skin colour.----- And besides, the SA economy is supposed to create payback for the Cuban and Chinese masters.

How about putting an unruly wig on uncle Car to create that look, then he can wing it on TV as Prof Carl? He seems to have a special nack for education.

Steenhuizen just gave an excellent speech regarding Cyril's SONA speech. He addressed ESKOM, NHI, EWC and a number of other things like hurdles to small business, etc. He addressed the President directly and gave him quite a hard time, but made a lot of sense. Whether the President will take any of it on board is another matter altogether. Put the country ahead of party Mr President, put the country ahead of party.

...love the reference to the trough ... and not shying away from throwing a well done to the government, here and there, where warranted...... he may just be lurking around here, picking up some pointers.

So now Cyril my old chum... its treasonous to utter words, but its clearly not treasonous to sell your country out to a group of foreigners?
