Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) 6.5/10

Decent sequel, more of the same carried over with the first film but the addition of Tales & Knuckles adds some additional substance.

Amusing enough & lots of action. Jim Carrey was great.

I see there is a 3rd film in development already & a spin-off series staring Knuckles in '23.

Seriously though. Not the hugest fan. You can see the characters tries to cater for the hardcore sonic community (the people who likes the shows, narration etc...) rather than just people who played the first 3 video games. Jim carry steals the show in a way but the fringe character building is really off putting to the point that it feels more like a Saturday morning K-TV cartoon. Very similar to what happened with Ratchet and Clank's movie.

The part in the Temple was my favourite but it played out way too quickly. It felt more like how a Sonic movie should be and the fights where epic but way too short leaving you underwhelmed. Even the music in the fight scenes was cut abruptly to shorten it out.

It works but is nothing great.

I haven't watched 2 yet, but I heard Jim said that he's retiring from acting?
 
The movie was ok. Jim Carrey steals the limelight. More of the same as per the 1st movie. I like that they added Tales and Knuckles. I liked the 1st movie more but as far as sequels of movies based on games go its better than some of the other rubbish thats out there.
 
Damnit guys, stop encouraging Moosedrool to fap to Sonic
