Dude...Hifi Corp...I would rather go to Game and pay the extra R2000 or so. Have bought from Hifi Corp before and had to take something back. Its for this reason I never buy electronics from them. If they have games etc on special...then ja, thats fine cos its games...nothing to worry about breaking there. But electronics + Hifi Corp = No frickin way...

Doesn't Sony only make 40 / 46 inch models ???

Looks like a bad advert, misprint or something.
No model numbers, resolution not 1080, but the 1080 label is there. i dint know Sony made 42" TVs. Worth a look I guess.
btw Makro has the 40" V series for R10 999, they say its the 450/550, its worht it if its the 550.

AFAIK Sony only sells 40 or 46" LCD TVs. Those are the only ones i've ever seen advertised (including websites/stores etc).
From Wikipedia (Full HD):
1080p can be referred to as full HD or full high definition although 1080i is also "Full HD" (1920x1080 pixels). The term usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a horizontal resolution of 1920 pixels. This creates a frame resolution of 1920×1080, or 2,073,600 pixels in total.
In addition, "HD-ready" requirement:
Native resolution of the display has to be at least 720 (hence 720p) vertical physical lines and having a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.
Also, when speaking of televisions and other monitors intended for consumer entertainment use, WXGA is generally understood to refer to a resolution of 1366×768, with an aspect ratio of 16:9 (ie TVs).
Yep. I remember going to Hi Fi Corp when I was looking for a plasma tv. The sales person was adamant that no one is making plasma tv's any more and the only ones you ever were going to get was "old stock". After 10 minutes of trying to explain to him that this wasn't the case, I eventually gave up and left...

IMHO there is no way a LCD TV can be Full HD and only display 1366×768. If you really want to be critical, there is also no such resolution as they are advertising: 1366×769. It is 1366×768.
