Hey guys, I'm quite keen to get this little cam, and I'm struggling to find places that stock it.

ORMS have it for quite a high price compared to overseas.

Would any of you know of Sony retailers that I could have a look at or perhaps even a supplier?

Just do some comparisons on local sites :

R7912.00 --

R7,120.00 --

R7663.00 --

R6,495.00 --

From B&H in the U.S $398 + Shipping $117 (UPS) = $515 x 11 = R5665 plus VAT R793 = R6458 excluding import fees.
I used UPS because your 2 cheaper options run through the Post Office , and that is obviously not an option now.

So your best deal locally would still be orms.

There was an announcement that Sony is pulling their consumer electronics business from South Africa http://mybroadband.co.za/news/business/113115-sony-tv-consumer-electronics-division-closing-report.html. Depending on whether someone else takes this over or not there may be a negative impact on the repair of their cameras and availability of lenses.

If you are going for Sony then a good place may be Kameraz in Rosebank. Phone to find out if they will be offering specials at one of their Super Sunday events.

Thanks guys. Had a look at the states option, but also not keen to pay a thumb sucked customs tax if it comes to that.
