Hi guys, I bought the game special on the LG LED 42 inch for R9999.00.Now I want to know if the Sony BDP-S360 is a good buy at R1499 or not. My home theatre is one of the older Sony models without the HDMI connections so I was thinking of running the Sony BDP-S360 via a coaxle cable to the amplifier like it is currently connected because I don’t want to change the whole setup and everything is in good working order. Does this make sense or not? Your help is appreciated.

So you want to run the audio through the amp with coaxial & HDMI directly to TV for video?
If so then that's the best you can do with your setup, you could also try optical for audio if your amp supports it
The price is about right, I haven't used that player though but I'm sure it will meet your needs

That is 100% correct smurfatefrog, will Hd sound be much better then what i wants do do by using the coaxial cable? I just feel spending R3300-00 for a amplifier is not necessary at the moment,my DSTV is also not HD yet...that will come next year.Sorry,my amp does support optical[I think]...is that the wire that shines the red light and plug in on the dvd player and then into the amp?

I run coaxial from my DVD player to my amp and component to my 50" plasma and the audio is awesome.

It's more than sufficient and if it's not you can upgrade your amp. You can simply use an RCA for the audio to get a feel for it and coaxial cable at a later stage

I do have the coaxial cable that I am using at the moment [my current sony dvd player is not Bluray] so then I will do the same,I see the TV also have a coaxial input at the back.Sorry I'm still very dum with this bluray and HD and HDMI stuff, all I no is that if I buy a bluray player I must connect it to the HDMI input on the TV and connect the coaxial cable for the sound from the player to the Amp,does a bluray player play all CD's and DVD's?

You are spot on cherise, optical is the one with a red light. Optical & coaxial will give you about the same quality audio so using your current cable will do just fine
