Sony Ericcson C905

Have anyone seen the new C905 phone? It looks brilliant. How long till it gets to South Africa? I hope soon! It's gonna probably take forever to get it on contract. Anyone got more info?

yes i agree it looks great! only thing i don't like is the gps not supporting turn by turn navigation unless you subscribe to some software.

The Location services pack makes use of the built-in GPS receiver and application-wise offers Google Maps for Mobile, the Wayfinder Navigator 7, a GPS Status application and a GPS Log application. Google Maps is an excellent application and best of all it's free, however it doesn't offer turn-by-turn navigation.

The Wayfinder Navigator 7 is the real deal navigation software but in previous Sony Ericsson models it offered time-limited trial turn-by-turn navigation and then required a paid monthly subscription.

i'll take a guess and say 4-6months before it gets here.

Probably December or January, but I'd be happy if someone could contradict me. Yes, it would be nice if it included subscription to a proper GPS service, google maps is just pointless in SA, but SE might improve the sales package by the time it arrives (the P1 package included a GPS).

I will agree. The official release date is Q4 2008 which makes it around October. And then it usually takes about 3 months to get to SA. So that puts us on End December / Begin January.

But my question is what is the price class for this phone? And if you get it on a MTN mycall 120 what do you expect the payin would be? R 1000, R 2000, R 3000, more?
