Hey guys. Anyone have any information as to when these two phones are gonna be available on Vodacom. Looking to upgrade to either one. Thanks

Im waiting for them aswell. But im going for the C702. Unless they get the red G900

I signed up on the Sony Ericsson (SA) website to be informed when the phone will be available. I got the notification on the 28 May 2008 to tell me it is now available. Contacted Vodacom three weeks later and they said they dont have it yet. Contacted MTN, and they said it hasnt been released, and that its only coming out at the end of the year:confused:

Gona give Sony Ericsson a call later on to find out whats the what with the release of the phone. Been delaying my upgrade for about 5 months already just waiting for the phone to be released.

Are you sure about the date of early July? Did you phone Vodacom/MTN to confirm it?

We can get the G900 in dark red or the C702/C902. The handset will have a 1yr warranty supported by Premiumstores, firmware upgrades when available can be done online through the SE website. The addition is that the Vodacom handsets are usually Vodafone branded which can be a bit irritating. We can assist with trading in your cellphone upgrade/s against these phones or any phones etc...

Can you give us a price for the G900?

Also, im a bit confused when you say you will trade the vodafone branded phones with he premiumstores one. Does this mean that i can upgrade my contract with vodacom and get a vodafone branded phone, and then take that phone and trade it with you guys?

Do you guys also offer contract subscriptions as well?

i have the black G900 already, the black looks better than the red in my point of view,i was in taiwan for the past 3 month, the htc diamond was released that side as well, and some other new phones like n78,lg kf750,samsung u900 ..

Current price on G900 is about R 4500. This is the entry level sales package which includes the PV708 b/t headset, there is a more expensive sales package which includes the 2gb M2 card for R 4800.

We will trade-in any unwanted upgrades, branded or non, on any of the phones we offer or special imports available from overseas.

yeah i got that b/t headset, it come with the package, i got the 2g m2 card as well, it can support up to 8gb..this phone is nice man, its slim, good sound quality, 5m camera with touch focus , and with the symbian uiq 3.0 platform it allows you to download endless application on your phone..the only thing that i dont like is that it doesnt have a built in gps....

i ll post some pics later..

Anyone got any news on this front (C902)?

I contacted vodacom yesterday and they gave me a standard, "we aren't interested in looking into this" reply:

Thank you for your e-mail communication to Vodacom.

Please be advised that the Sony Ericsson C902 has not been launched on the Vodacom network as yet. At present there is no estimated time of arrival for the handset. Before the handset is launched it will still need to undergo stringent testing which can delay the launch.

Should you have any further queries, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected].

From Peerie's post above it sounds as if it has been launched in SA by SE. So I'm not sure what Vodacom are on about here.

No news so far. This looks like it may be going the way of the W960i: they claim not to have any ETA, then suddenly, out of nowhere, it's available (but at an insane price)

And the funny thing about the SE G900, is that its available as a phone review on the vodacom website, yet their sales and queries department still give you the same standard bs about not having the phone, and no ETA on its arrival, etc:mad:

@sn3rd: How much is the W960i available for?

SE might have released the hone and they can without testing it etc, SPs have to test the phone, takes a bit longer. My problem is why does it take so long to get stock of a phone thats already passed testing!?
Supply Chain Management needs some work here.

Some more information I found at hellopeter.com.

THE INCIDENT
My husband is looking to apply for a MTN contract and obtained a flyer from MTN in which they have the relevant contract options along with phone options. He wanted the Sony Ericsson C702 that was advertised in the flyer.

He enquired at all the MTN branches in the area yet none of the branches even know about the phone. He then contacted Sony Ericsson directly and they informed him that this specific phone will only be launched in South Africa in September 2008.

How can MTN then advertise this phone as available with a contract / upgrade if it hasn't even been launched yet? This is a clear case of false advertising on MTN's part.

This is what I got with my second email to Vodacom. Looks more promising. At least Vodacom bothered to answer my two emails, I've been waiting for two days for a response from MTN and SE.

Kindly be advised that I have liaised with our Retentions Division regarding the launch date of the Sony Erricson C902. We received feedback that it will only be launched in 4th quarter of the year. Please note that we do not have an estimated time of arrival.

Should you have any further queries, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected]

Warm Regards

Chanae Witten

somebody on bidorbuy is selling a c902. I emailed MTN 2 days ago to ask when the c902 is expecting to be available. I even spiced up my email by saying I have already emailed twice before and phoned in once, and I have not been contacted so I would like somebody to attend to me. and guess what?????

Yay finally , but we are going to wait till November when the contract actually expires @ MTN and check if they have them. Hopefully all th bugs would be worked out by then, but haven't yet had a Sony Ericsson that had bugs except the W900i white special edition i dented a wall with!:D

i dont understand what youre saying man. MTN only gets c902 in November?? or you are only eligible for an upgrade in November???

I am really liking the looks of this c902 because of the camera, however, I wouldnt mind a smart phone. Whats the HTC diamond like?

Been checking with MTN SP about the Sony G900, they still don't have any idea when it will be available. Haven't tried Vodacom but jiteshraj post says its available
