Sony Ericsson P990i

I still want to kick the dev at SonyEricsson in the balls who came up with the idea to display the dreaded "Restarting phone to improve performance" when my P990i ran out of RAM. And you didn't have to do much to get the message. And then there was the task killer. I was paranoid to close an app as soon as I opened it. Was actually concentrating more on that than using my phone. :)

After my P990i, I got the iPhone 3G and now it's the HTC Desire HD. An absolute monster and my favorite phone so far.

Still like to rip off the BB owners, maybe cos most of my friends have BBs and they drive me absolutely insane. They should all have been BB salespeople. :D

Sounds similar to Apple Fanboys :)

:)

I was actually thinking of the iPhone 4, but when the Yanks got it, there were so many videos of Antennagate on YouTube, that I decided to keep on using the trusty ol' 3G. I'm a lefty so the iPhone 4 was not an option for me.

And with the 4.3'' display of the Desire HD, my iPhone feels like a toy.

Actually the AntennaGate issue is not an issue here in SA. Our GSM network are much better than those of AT&T's in America, and I haven't had one dropped call or bad signal issues since I got my iPhone4. Same story with all the guys at my work (and there's a lot of them). I took a chance though.

You also left-handed? Cos when you grip the phone with your left hand & rest it in your palm, the signal deteriorate heavily. I actually saw on YouTube how a guy gripped it in his left hand and the signal went from 4 bars to no service.

Just didnt want to take the chance with such an expensive phone.

I grip the phone with my left hand, and yes, I could get it to drop a few bars, but I can't for the life of me get it to loose signal completely, and that was with squeezing it, making sure I "short' out the gap between the two antennas etc. Problem persists mainly with AT&T in America as far as i understand. But as you said, it was a risk to take with such an expensive phone and contract. Relieved and happy man!
