Sony Ericsson P990i

I hear that O2 in the UK is only getting their handsets on the 6th of November. So it seems we're going to wait quite some time. I got to reiterate the disappointment I feel. Let's keep our fingers crossed for next week hey?

I think it's actually a good thing - now I can rather get the Nokia N95.

Till the N95 gets released, my SE P910i will do duty and then be used as a backup phone.

I still think the P990i should never have been released, the software is buggy, to say the least. When you get a new phone, you expect it to work out of the box. Have a look here http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_p990-reviews-1318.php and you'll see what I mean...

Since emailing Midrand about the P990 yesterday I still have not recieved any idication on when this will be out in store :(

Here are the facts, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here goes

They started distributing yesterday, but we have 800 phones and +- 4000 outlets

Now we know, MTNDD being our Dude will always make a plan to get us the P990i first on the list. :)

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phoned the courier company vodacom direct is using and my phone is due for delivery today!

Hah. So. After an agonising day of waiting I finally got my beauty at 7:30pm. Except. What I didn't realize (as I have never owned such a phone before) - the P990i's from Vodacom... are vodafone babies. Menu is different, no f#$@ing games, and just a major bother for me.

For you guys on MTN I assume you're getting standard P990i's - you're lucky! I had no idea you are not allowed to, or can't, remove the vodafone interface without voiding your warranty.
You also can't update the firmware with SE's website.

Vodafone are the biggest bunch of losers.

Congrats bro. Hope you enjoy it. I will let you know how much i enjoy my phone maybe middle next year when MTN wakes up.

Relax MTNDD. I admire your commitment to MTN. I was referring to the stock shortage. I've been irritating my local MTN outlet so much I think they would import one for me just to shut me up if they could. No Offence intended, just a little sick of waiting.:D

I agree with you in terms of the stock shortage, if there's one thing that really irritates me it's LACK of stock or delay of a product and one more thing inconsistency..............

No offence taken ;)
