Sony Ericsson P990i

Okay... So if Vlive software is the problem why in the world are they installing it then? Why must they mess around with the software!!!

Vodafone is so pathetic with their branding! I hate it! So what must I do now? I am due for an upgrade on 27 Jan 2007 with VC... Should I rather cancel my contract two months later and get an MTN P990i or will it be sorted out by then?

Or better port my contract to prepaid and just buy it cash, but from whom?

You can send your P990i in to Vodacare, they will remove the Vlive firmware & replace it with the standard Sony Ericcson firmware.

Are you sure that they are still going to be removing it? Seeing that they have "fixed" there vodafone software now...

If it was my phone, I would still demand that they remove the vcrap software - just makes it slower...
 
Totally agree with you on the crappy vodafone software... Well anyway, I hope for you guys getting the Vodafone branded one's... You can. Heard nothing but bad comments on the Vlive one's.
 
@MJB I have. The turquoise font is quite bright against the black background !
It's smart though, also like the graphite and pollen themes

Mine is non-branded... and if you press the call button in fc mode... You get your call list straight away.

Yes, same with me. Call button immediately brings up call list. My phone is also unbranded with MTN.

@aqualung - I like the "White" theme. Simple but effective. Still looks good with screen brightness turned down to 60%.

BTW, Screen brightness at 60% and GSM set to GSM only, my battery only dropped about 25% after 1 day's medium usage. Received a few calls during that time as well.
 
@gecko I prefer it myself.

Have gone back to it for now - something about white font on a colured background, does something funny to my eyes :rolleyes:

( One of the best themes I ever used on my P910 was intermomentus 2 from the mobile 9 site - pale and very classy )
 
@ aqualung - I agree. I used Handy Day on my P910 and used a corresponding theme to compliment the colour scheme of HDay. I will actually check out the intermomentus 2 theme. My wife grabbed the opportunity to take over my P910 as soon as I got my new one. (I turned her a bit into a geek herself!).

Can I PM you with my e-mail addy... for that theme please? Or where can I get it? www.se-uiq.com will not work... And I cannot find it in ftp...
 
@MJB - sure . The intermomentus theme ? ( It is for P910 though - I must adapt it using the theme editor for my new phone )

I have alos ordered the Crystal Case (THANKS Aqualung ;)) and the SP you guys suggested... Thanks for the suggestions!!! Now alll we need to do is find some more cool sites for APPS and THEMES and just all round cool stuff for the P990... :D
 
Has anyone put out a SA compatible GPS navigation application and maps for the P990.
 
I popped in at Southdowns MTN shop today and asked them if they have any P990i in stock (just took a chance!). To my surprise, they had one, but it was booked out to a customer. :( But, because they're a brand new shop, they've got no waiting lists for a P990i and I'm now no1!!!

So I asked the guy what I need to do, because I have a MTN MyCall 100 contract, but doing business with the phone number (business cards, clients, etc) and don't want to lose it.

I asked them if it's possible to 'swap' the two phone numbers if I take out a new ProCall 300 contract and assign the MyCall 100 phone number to the ProCall contract and vice versa. The guy said no?? :mad:

Really don't understand this, I want to give them some good business and I'm being chased away? :confused:
