Sony Ericsson to announce X1!

I am drooling all over myself..finally the best of both worlds: SE+WM, hopefully this baby will run WM7 or WM6.#

Whatever the price, I'm buying it, importing it too (I'm not starting a ":mad: When will the X1 be released in South Africa!!" thread :p)..cant wait:D:D:D

yeah agreed, it's a beaut!! Lovely lines and looks like materials used are of the highest quality...
 
I honestly don't know why SE always want to reinvent the wheel!

The P990i is a very funky phone - just make it a bit thinner, upgrade the hardware and slap loads more RAM in it! Then I'll certainly buy it.
 
Well according to Eldar from mobile review, SE designed everything but HTC manufactures it.

LoL, did you post something similar when they made the P1i... the difference here is its a Sony Ericsson runnign Windows Mobile, I like HTC...but c'mon theyre phones are ugly compared to SE phones...

I was also comparing it to the TyTN...but what gets me really excited is that SE will most likely ship it with a better photo manager and a better music player (I've seen the new players on the new Walkman phones and they're awesome)...and its bound to ship with Opera Mobile 9.5 :).

I read somewhere that it has a 500mhz ARM processor..heh..so atleast it will be able to play video :p

Yeah, but without some dedicated video hardware it's going to eat battery life.

I really don't understand why SE would get a HTC and 'rebadge' it.

That is just plain stupid. No, it's actually moronic. :p
 
yes by HTC, who dont make the prettiest phones.. I doubt they'll let it ship with standard Windows Mobile 6, Samsung and HTC have both made their own changes or added their own apps to Windows Mobile, SE would be idiots to let it go like that...besides on one of the pictures on the official X1 site you can see a picture or something being moved with a finger..and I never saw anything like that on WM6...

heh, I dont think it is, HTC makes a gabillion WM phones, it may be cheaper for SE to just outsource the production..let HTC figure out how to make a slider with all those features without it being bulky..

it is the best of both worlds..a WM phone from a WM phone manufacturer, but designed by somebody who has more than 2 ties/formal shoes, also have that other guy update/change the software a bit add more functionality and prettyness.

Well, that's the trick HTC pulled on i-mate and all the other boys.

They just sent them a letter, telling them that all devices will now be built and sold under the HTC name...no more 'rebranding' will be happening.

That's why I think SE will be stupid to outsource it to HTC...cos as soon as they make it funky, they will also be getting a letter from HTC. :p
