Good day All,

Any help would be appreciated.

I am a Vodacom contract subscriber and got my pre-setup Vodacom Sony Ericsson W910i. Unfortunately I do not have 3g coverage from Vodacom at home. As such I recently got a MTN prepaid sim to make use of MTN 3g.

The first time connecting I had the settings sent to my phone and all went great. Connection was fast and functioned well for the entire 40mins I was connected. I turned the phone off and used my Vodacom sim again.

On my second attempt using my MTN sim to connect to 3g I was unable to connect. I phoned the MTN callcentre and got no useful feedback. I then had the settings resent to my phone. And again connected fine. No problems. After finishing I went back to using my Vodacom sim for voice.

Last night I again attempted to make use of the MTN sim. However I again was unable to connect. Both phone and PC displays "connecting" and then after a couple of seconds I get a message that the PPP protocol was cancelled.

After phoning MTN callcentre and holding for 12 mins I got fedup.

As such I'm hoping that someone on the forum would be able to assist me.

Does the phone reset and loose the MTN settings when I change/swop the sims around? Or is there some other problem that I am unaware of?

Any help would be appreciated.

The phone can only hold 1 set of setting unless you can configure it to have a backup set.
When Voda sim is inserted it seems like it automatically resets it to vodacom.
