Sony Ericsson's Canadian eShop website hacked

Hackers have attacked Sony Ericsson's Canadian eShop website, affecting 2,000 users, the latest online strike against the Japanese electronics and entertainment giant, a Sony spokesman said Wednesday.

Almost every week some Sony website or service gets hacked.
Sony is caught in a s**t storm of their own making thanks to anonymous.
It will make more financial sense to declare a truce with the hacker community.
(Less lawsuits, less DRM, etc.)

I just feel sorry for the fall guy.

I liken this as to kids chucking stones at a zoo lion in a cage. The moment the lion can get to someone just picking up a stone it will rip em to pieces.

On 24 May, Sony Ericsson can confirm that it experienced a security breach of an externally hosted website in Canada. As a result, approximately 2000 customer records, including first name, last name, email addresses and the hash of the encrypted passwords were obtained by an outside party. No additional personal or credit card details have been compromised.
