Yes, but from your printer? Presumably, if you have use for such a printer, you have a device that can do slideshows already.
 
But I don't leave my computer connected to my TV all day. I think the idea is to use your existing TV as a picture frame, leaving the printer connected to serve the images.

Also, my laptop doesn't have HDMI output... so it's a bit of a mission to find a VGA cable etc. Having a box that resizes images to the optimum resolution and outputs via HDMI isn't a bad thing...

My two year old Cybershot can do 1080p output. I can't imagine why I would want to spoil my lounge by sticking an ugly printer in there
 
Fair enough - 1080 of sorts. It doesn't really matter, does it? If your TV is modern enough to have an HDMI port, it can almost certainly i and p.... :)
 
IIRC the difference between interlaced and progressive is the way adjacent frames are rendered to the screen which has a big impact when things in the scene move as interlaced could give a tearing effect. Shouldn't make much of a difference on a static image.

As for the topic, its a fairly bland review of a printer, no specs or costs involved. If I am going to buy a photo printer for home it needs to be more versatile than just a photo-printer.
 
It wouldn't make any difference on a static image, but it would have an impact on transitions between images. But then, if your player/device renders it correctly, you shouldn't see any difference at all.
