What a bloody joke the US have become.

Sony has pulled the plug on the XMAS release of "The Interview," after a number of theater chains bailed.
TMZ broke the story Thursday morning ... Sony execs felt their out was if distributors yanked the film because of safety concerns. That would give Sony an out without directly bending to the hackers.

Sony just released a statement, saying, "In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release."
The statement goes on, saying, "We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public."

The execs are underscoring the distinction between pulling the film because of the distributors rather than out of fear, saying, "We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

Lately I have just lost faith in how things work, the world embraces the bad guys, lets be friends with murderers, terrorists and any other evil. We really need a war or disease to cleanse the planet

It's a war, you don't need to win every battle especially if your opponents might go after movie theatres and possibly hurt/kill civilians.

Just not worth the risk imo. The movie probably sucks anyway.

I think the USA is just tired of defending the world and being a target as a result. But this does send the wrong message.

Come one man, this is ridiculous. Is America so bloody scared of NK? Really? Is that what has become of the strongest nation on the planet?
Talk about a weak country, as Rob Lowe said, if Sony ran ww2, Hitler would have won :D

why are you on TMZ? you a secret Kardashian fan? you like celeb gossip?

personally, I would have found the article on another site than let others know a trawl through TMZ...

And what exactly should the USA do to NK?

They're not embracing the terrorists, they're just wussies.

Besides, anyone who really thinks it's Lil Kim that did this is an idiot. It's obviously the disgruntled Sony staff they laid off a few months ago because of "financial problems". That's why one of the first things leaked was an internal report showing Sony actually made huge profits and paid executives massive bonuses.

North Korea couldn't hack an abacus.

why is it ridiculous? how about this, how about you petition Sony to release the movie in South Africa, and then you can beat your drums all you want.

personally, after direct physical threats, I think it's the right public duty to pull the stupid movie so US citizens are not harmed. if the movie is released, and there is an attack? do you think Sony could hold up against a court case?

Lol :D was on FB link

What should they do? Nothing. But letting NK dictate what movies you can show? Ridiculous you have to agree?
My god the world needs leaders like RR and MT.

Assuming NK is behind this.

You are right, they shouldn't take orders from a nut case run lil country like NK. But they should keep the public safe first.

The is more NK vs Sony than NK vs USA anyway.

Pretty accurate. Obama is the most spineless US president since, well, ever. He gives the Republicans whatever they want, he doesn't take a stand on anything but more importantly, he gives the donors whatever they want (although all the presidents do this). His "change" and "yes we can" slogan was a huge joke. Almost everything GW Bush did, he made worse. He's George Dubya 2.0, only he doesn't have as many hilarious quotes.

to be honest, the more I think about the more livid that get that my freedom of speech has been directly attacked and that this capitalist company gave into the threat.

how many other movies are going to be pulled in the future? Imagine....someone is going to make threats about Frozen II...

how is this Obama's fault? sony made the decision....

Yup. I would at least rather have Bush who didnt take it up the rear end. At least he had the balls to do what needed to be done. Yes he was pretty brain dead most of the time but he didnt take any threats to his country

I am pretty sure the Obama admin has some say in this.
But this is a sign of things to come.
USA bowing to anyone that threatens them.
Absolutely pathetic.
Next stop Iran, Hamas, ISIS

Say what you want about Obama but he is not a bad president. Sure he comes across spineless especially if you are more interested in foreign relations (this is my way of saying war mongering in a PC way) and entertainment on CNN, but as far the boring stuff goes like job creation etc. he is doing bloody well.
