Sorry, another “Which LCD to buy” thread.

I am considering a Sony 32”, now there is the U series (KLV-32U300A) and for about R4k more the V series (KLV-32V300A/S).

The difference between the 2 are things like number of HDMI ports, built in clock, etc But the differences that concern me is the WCG-CCFL, Bravia engine and Light sensor on the V series. Do these features warrant an extra R4k or is it just marketing talk designed to squeeze more money out of a laymen like me?

And while we are on the topic of more, how about the D series?

Lastly, am I looking at the correct LCD, I am looking for a new companion for my PS3, but it will also be my main TV so I definitely do not want motion blur, etc when watching the next world cup. The only reason I am looking at the Sony is because, to me, the build is aesthetically more pleasing, should I be looking elsewhere?

the V series is better, MAINLY because it has the full bravia engine, whereas the U has a cut down version.

whether it is 4k better is for you to decide.

I had a 40" U and couldnt really complain

Thanks BiteMe.

Anyone else have experience with these TV’s?

Maybe look into the samsungs, they are also very aesthetically pleasing and have no motion blur when I play games or watch sport.

The light sensor is my biggest (Nice to have), my LCD monitor is rather bright and at night I find myself wanting to turn down the brightness. For those with the U series, are you often playing with the brightness control?
