Sony Z3 Compact

Ya dude, but its so cheap!

Testing battery life out. Turned on at 12pm yesterday, came 63% out the box, i charged it for 30 minutes. I used it the entire day and night. Downloading all my apps, using facebook,whatsapp,line,gmail lots. GPS on, Wifi on, 3g on, Brightness set to auto adjust.

No extra charging and still sitting on 20% this morning. Absolutely fantastic, never had a phone that lasted this long.
 
Get yourself on Telkom mobile.

Awesome stuff, getting myself a Oneplus one, apparently the battery life is stellar, so can't wait (it's on the way)
 
Does Telkom mobile have better reception than Cell C? Thats the only reason why i would switch because cell c signal is so k@k that when i drive from one suburb to the other it freaks out searching for internet and constantly switching between 3g and hsdpa.

Just get yourself a prepaid sim and see if it works better than CellC. I'm sure anything would work better than that though. Won't cost you much. And your phone may be able to use TM's LTE, can't remember off hand what band they use, and if your phone can use that band, but that would be cool

Agreed. Still haven't decided which Z3 I want to get.

This is very important if you're hoping to use LTE on Telkom Mobile which uses the 2300Mhz band.

The Z3 appears to come in two models, D5803 and D5833(which supports 2300, the other does not)

Not to fussed about LTE. i don't use my phone enough to warrant its speed. H+ is more than fast enough for my use.

My Model is the D5803.

Gosh this thing gets better n better the more i use it. A little bit much of sony bloatware but i just block it out. Gonna do a full charge now and see how long i can get off it. Will report back.

I will say the camera is fantastic. It comes with a bucket load of random features that you will probably never use, but they fun to mess around with ;)

Ok battery test.

Phone was charged to 97% yesterday at 1pm, i took it off charge.

Following passive things were on the entire time:
Mobile Data (Used for 4 hours but remained on)
WiFi (used for rest of the time)
GPS Location
LifeLog (for the purpose of this test)
Double tap to wake is enabled
Google Now is enabled
Screen Brightness set to auto adjust


LifeLog results, to see how much i used of each thing:
Total Music Playtime: 3 hours
Total Social Media time (twitt,fb,instagram etc): 1 hour 10 minutes
Video playback via youtube app : 16 minutes
Total Browsing time : 16 minutes
Total Game time: 6 minutes

Okay so thats just life log results for basic things. Other things i used it for done during the day.
WhatsApp has been in use throughout the entire day + night + morning, quite heavily.
I downloaded 6 games all 50mb +-
I used tapatalk for an estimated 20 minutes in total.
I have taken 25 photos
I have used the gmail app for about 5 minutes in total
Line used throughout the day

Currently my battery is sitting at 33%. Estimated time left at this use is 11 hours (22 hours in standby mode)
Time since last charge 22Hr 27min. Screen has taken up 41% of the usage.

So ya so far i am thoroughly impressed with the battery life, all my other phones would last maybe 18 hours max, considering i have been using this phone heavily since its last charge.
 
Waiting for the Z3 to be launched locally so that I can get a Z1 compact cheaper than what it is now.

My Xperia V is slowing down (with age :) )

Factory reset followed by an OS update does wonders for it. Worked like a charm on my aging Razr Maxx.

My reason for getting the Z3 is just because I'm bored and need a new gadget to play with :)
