Sore Throat

hmmm i like chocolate so maybe i should try that one first. you know all this coughing gives me headaches and even had a slight fever last weekend. i have to get rid of it somehow. thanks Debbie for the help i will give both remedies a try.

waynegohl if you have phlegm then try the codeine first. the chocolate will encourage the phlegm.

-codeine (if no cough/flu med then look for myprodol)
-honey
-gargle with salt water
-chocolate

it started as a dry cough 2 weeks ago then it went to a wet cough for awhile now its back to a dry cough. its so irritating.

other than cough mixture i have tried strong sweets, gargleling (spelling) with salt and vinegar water and drinking a little bit and something else but i will have to ask my wife what it was but i can say it all tasted gross anyway.

Ouch.... I hope you feel better soon, waynegohl :(

Being ill is no fun... Coughing constantly isn't much better...

thanks man i dont normally get sick but this thing is irritating other than that i am the perfect couch potato.

Oh, godammit. If only you people used fricking Codeine, you wouldn't still be here complaining.

:D I'm stubborn :D

I know what you mean. At best I used to get ill perhaps once a year for 3 or four days. A few months ago I ended up having flu for FOUR WEEKS! It was definitely an experience!

I'm feeling much better today. My throat's not sore any more, but it's been replaced with a slight wet cough and a snotty nose :D Ah.. life :D

you sound like me i will be fine of most of the year and if i do happen to get a cold/flu it will last about 2/3 days and then i am fine but this year i get the flu but very mild and next minute i have this cough thats has lasted 3 weeks now.

i think a wet cough would be better than a dry one.

at least you pulling through. all the best.

Bleugh, I have exactly the same thing.

Started out as irritation in throat, became dry cough, now, at night it tries to make me cough my lungs out for about 3 hours, then it goes away.

Alcohol seems to really help though. And I don't mean hard-stuff, beer stops the tickle dead.

that sounds about right i also wonder if its not the cold playing on my chest that makes me cough more in the afternoons or at evenings.

i am having some ice cream and chocolate mousse to wash down my peanut butter and golden syrup sandwich.

Please stop posting now, just now we all contract the disease.

Get well soon! We need you! :D

*cough* *cough* *sniiiiiiiff* :p Thanks, UnoPanelvan :D One last post then :p

@ stoke - I hope you feel better soon. When I had flu it was a constant cough attack... My lungs and chest were so exhausted and tired, so I know how much it sucks :(

@ waynegohl - Weell.... on the bright side I don't have to worry about feeling hungry any more  How... how could you wound the poor wittle chocolate mousse wiff.... wiff.... peanut butter and syrup  *cries* Farewell... brave mousse....

Franks Lycan.

It's official, you can drown the buggers, I slept like a baybee, but now my head is soooooooo sore from the alcohol.
I have a sneaky feeling that the buggers will be back tonight to once again entice me into trying to cough my lungs out through my mouth again.

These are the fun times peeps! WOOOT!

haha... Let it be said that alcohol does in fact have its advantages :)

I woke up this morning and used up half a roll of toilet paper emptying my nose of ickies

Like you said... fun times... wooooooot....
