Hi

i just got a cheap st lab sound card, its has all the channels needed, the problem is that when i play a dvd ie black hawk down it plays 100% sound perfect, on echo, all sound right, playin in media player but when i play a divx file the sound echo's, iv checked their is no echo enabled in settings. what could the problem be???

Most soundcards have environment / EQ / post processing panels where that could be set. Try look for a Reset All option?

Update drivers?

Do your games echo too?

enviroment, post pro. etc are set to off, i have the latest drivers

done that to,played in vlc, dvd plays with sound 100% but then divx echos.

What codec are you using for DIVX playback? IF it's something like FFDShow, that might be what's causing the echo.

i dont think its the codec cause if i play the same divx file through the onboard sound card, enable it and play it through their it doesnt echo, so i dont think the problem lys with the codec.

Uninstall all the drivers, remove all codecs. Restart the system and then continue to install the latest drivers and codecs

but if it was the codecs then it would do it with the onboard sound??? or not???

Rather use the K-Lite Media codec pack. Comes with a nice installer/uninstaller

does it play all formats?? divx xvid ect?? will my movies still play through media player??
