Hey guys

Looking at getting a monitor , where i can hook up my xbox. The monitor has an HDMI port and VGA only, but no sound option. I have a set of speakers, but only 3.5mm jack option. Can somebody perhaps suggest a few ideas of how i can get sound running, without having to shell out more money on speakers.

Are there adapters, where i can run HDMI in/out and that has a 3.5mm jack where i can run the pc speakers in as well? Or would it just be an option to run the 3.5mm into the xbox controller?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

whether you will find one in SA is beyond me and I will leave that investigation up to you..

That should do what you need, you will just need to convert the 3.5mm jack to RCA, which is easily obtainable in SA..

Other than that I dont think you will have much luck but I do stand corrected since I dont know the xbox and the outputs it has available..

Hi Iceman

You need an audio extractor. This one -> https://avsupply.co.za/product_info.php/converters-hdmi-hdmi-analogue-converter-p-57
