Hi Guys,

I'm planning on purchasing:
http://www.wootware.co.za/creative-70sb150600002-sound-blaster-zx-pci-e-sound-card.html

Now my problem is 2 fold. I want to also buy myself some good wireless headphones. My Mobo doesn't have BT functionality
so I was planning on buying a BT dongle. That means it will use the Mobo sound and not the soundcard correct?

Should I be looking at a Soundcard with BT functionality or is there a way to get the BT off above card via a dongle?

Or should I just use the above sound card with a wired headset?

I don't KNOW!!!

Suggestions maybe?

I went for this http://www.noise.co.za/product/samson-mediaone-3a-active-studio-monitors/ , I hate using the bluetooth and switched to the wired solution.

You can get audio off bluetooth. But geez the output lag is horrible, literally impossible to enjoy a Movie, series,Youtube vid with huge lips sync issues caused by the bluetooth. If its just for music then its ok.

I would go full wired.

Perhaps outline what you are wanting the audio for. Are you and Audiophile junkie? Are you just look for something with a little bass? Are you looking for something with pure clarity?

If there is lag then I'll stick to wired.

It's mainly for gaming with movies and the likes as second fiddle. I guess it's this SC then with just a new pair of good wired headphones. Thanks :)

If it's anything like what you get in your car it will sound terrible.

Also gets a bit fiddly connecting BT every time you want to use them. Dunno. I've got a set of AKG headphones that came with a 3m cable - perfect for the pc as I can run them behind the chair or down to my side rather than in front where my hands are.

Draadloos is nie vir gaming nie :D

A Soundcard is basically a DAC, Digital to Analog Converter and a small amp with some connectors.

Sound is stored digitally on the pc and the speakers need to be driven by an analog wave.

Using bluetooth shifts conversion and amplification from the sound card to a cheapie low power DAC and amp setup running off batteries in the headphones. So sound quality won't be great, compared with a higher quality DAC in the sound card. Bluetooth cuts the sound card out of the system.

Wired headphones are the way to go with a decent Soundcard. Or keep it digital into an external hifi reveiver and power the headphones from there making use of the receiver's DAC.

or just hook up some decent monitors & share the sound :D

I actually have a nice sound system which I want to hook up to it too once I have saved enough for a decent projector.

So the Soundcard was an easy sell to the wife. I want it for gaming though /drool
