I'd rather buy more Edifier than 'gaming speakers'.

I thought Sound Cards were dead.

The DACs are supposedly good, especially since we don't get many affordable options in SA.
I will always have a soft spot for Creative.

For the average user soundcards are dead, but for people who want a bit more they still exist.

No X3/4? I highly recommend those DACs.

But these may be considered
You spoke, I listened :) Coming with the next shipment, ETA July-August. The X3 is EOL, so just the X4.

As will I, ever since my first Sound Blaster 16 :D

I'm currently using an X-Fi ZxR connected to the amp via analogue, there's an easily discernible difference between it and onboard. If I use optical, however, I can't tell the difference between analogue on the sound card or optical on either.

Any person who are into stereo headphones as opposed to gaming headphones will love that DAC, and it can be stacked with a dedicated AMP. Way better than the Sennheiser GSX series, sorry EPOS, since Sennheiser sold the division. The X4 has all the DSP, and it is regularly updated by Creative. For gaming and media, highly recommended, and is an incredible value proposition.

The G6 is a good portable device. For people with gaming laptops, but the X4 has more oomph and is the better all-rounder, and as said, the X4 can be stacked.

I am really happy that you are bringing these devices in. Now I don’t have to point people to Amazon any more.

Less people vs aramex and customs

I still use a set of Creative 5.1 speakers with the powered active subwoofer on my gaming pc. They made them good, and they made them to last.

and how is the https://en.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blasterx-ae-5-plus if I wanted to go internal. Context: swapping out my asus xonar pci for someting else seeing pci no longer exists unless you go adapter route. Which I might try first but otherwise I need HiFi sound with min headpone amps of 250.

I won't be able to say. The reason on-board cannot really compete in quality is due to noise, and an internal sound board would need to negate that too, but that is why those are normally also 'specially' enclosed like capture cards. I would ideally like my amp/DAC external, though external would introduce higher latencies, but that is me, you would need to watch reviews. The new things on the market are rather optimal to come to latency.

The X4 in my view remains the best ‘gaming’ DAC, obviously there are better DACs on the market, but the X4 has its niche, and the advantage being that as an external DAC it does support stacking which not many gaming targeted DACs support. Do your research.

For all means and purposes, ordinary human beings aren't bothered by noise being introduced or even notice any latencies. It is a broader topic to discuss.
