South Africa's cybersecurity plans

Give them some credit - they at least seem to know what they don't know. Whether it turns into another toothless family enrichment scheme remains to be seen, though.

Why the hell do we need this type of policy? People only steal when you have something worth stealing or attack when you are worthy of being attacked. This government has seen to it that we have zero worth to the rest of the planet so why would someone 'attack' us? I guess that was their great cybersecurity policy all along, reduce yourself to less than zero and then you're protected.

To steal our Cybersecurity Policy of course! :D

In 16 years they have not managed to police the streets or even their own politicians. Now they want to do something with computers?
Got to hand it to them - they never admit defeat.

SA cybersecurity: disconnect all data connections for the entire country (I doubt they can think of anything else)

we don't need cyber security in south africa! its impossible to hack anything in south africa with your shyte pings and speeds! :p

On the otherhand,if we do get attacked who's to be blame for lack of ?

I say! Sounds like a simply spiffing opportunity to blow some taxpayer's dosh on a merry-go-round of teas, lunches and knees-ups, not to mention the creation of some jolly nice salaries and tenders for some of the good ol' boys and gals. Now there's service delivery for you, say what!

anyone find it ironic that this agency is gonna be called NCAC? N*** might have been more appropriate

Somebody better check the legislation to see if we going the China route. Cybersecurity could just be the blanket under which Internet censorship creaps into SA!!
