'South Korea will remove evolution from its high school textbooks'

Slightly off topic, but I was observing a very small creature the other day (about 1 mm in size), and then it hit me. People actually believe that we evolved from such tiny animals.

Its amazing the lengths people go to deny the existence of God and His creation.

Great news.

Its because its becoming such a Christianized country. Some of the biggest churches in the world are there.

No, I believe its becoming more secular. Remember, its 50% non religious and growing.

The reason why some of the biggest churches are here is because Koreans passionately ardent. Give them something to focus on and its all they will focus on, at least that's my take of the culture here. That's why they became so rich in 30 years.

Another great post by Patchy showing exactly how little he understands.

Actually we evolved from organisms you'd need a microscope to see.

Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it's wrong.

Religion has been around since the earliest recordings of man in one form or another. It will be around for a while longer I suspect.

Ps. I do not agree with this.

I agree it will be around for a while too. But I was talking about the Church in developed countries.

And you don't have to agree with me, its my opinion, an observation. How the Church's rhetoric and actions are growing louder each day as a direct result secularism and "Islaminsation".

Slight difference there. One is backed up by science, while the other isn't.

Bah, details, details. You're just nitpicking now. What has this "science" ever done for the world? Magick, mysticism and believing whatever makes us feel good has brought us the compass, a cure for polio, electricity, automobiles and one or 2 other nice things...

It's typical logic though.

"But its sooo small and we are soo big, IMPOSSIBLE for a small thing to turn into a big thing like us!"

South Korea has the largest church in the world. All Koreans I meet here in CT are Christian.

Yeah so? Scooby Doo is a dog.

The majority of the Koreans in America are Christians too, what does this make of the fact that the actual country itself is 50% secular and growing?

This is very sad news indeed :(

I don't think it's ever been a good idea to remove anything that promotes critical thinking from the syllabus.

Lol, I actaully do not agree with the removal of evolution... hahaha, sorry poorly worded :o

Any sane person would agree with you. However as you probably noticed, some people are ecstatic that others will soon be joining them in their cocoons of ignorance.

I don't mind if you believe you share the same ancestor with a spider or a snail.

Oh the irony.
Have you ever thought for one second, perhaps this "evolution" thing is the mechanism your god used to put you on this earth? If that is true, then its actually you who is going to extraordinary lengths denying how amazing your god is. Why cant you realise that knowing how your god did stuff does not detract from his power.

You will be even more amazed to learn that some very tiny bacteria can replicate into a massive blob in only a few minutes under the right environmental conditions.

Depends on the individual examples being used. If they were incorrect examples then they should be removed.

If not then I would love to know how this was justified in court.

Museum of Evolution: with bones, fossils and video footage and proof.

Museum of Creation next door: puppet show with a hand shooting lightning, cloud of smoke and animals appearing

:p

The article doesn't mention a court case. The creationists just went to the textbook publishers directly and somehow strong-armed them to remove the "error" that the Archaeopteryx is an ancestor of modern birds.
