Southern Paarl Area

If you know of any wireless internet providers with coverage in Southern Paarl, please let me know. www.paarlonline.co.za exists, but it has been broken for a couple of months and the owner doesn't reply.

I've been distributing flyers to determine the amount of interest in a wireless user group and shared adsl internet in Southern Paarl. The amount of feedback was almost none. If you live in Southern Paarl and are interested, contact me assap.

i am pretty sure my provider covers the paarl area.

looks like from their map. send them an email & they will respond.

uptime is good. only problems i have had was due to power failures & having to switch to another tower. speeds are ok not great. i find the service otherwise very reliable.

They actually look quite decent, there's just one thing that bothers me:

Netcontacts offers high speed Internet Access for businesses ONLY. Ideally suited for SOHO, medium, and large businesses, we do NOT cater for the private individual.

I guess they couldn't have made it much clearer than that... I'll call them anyway and irretate a few admins. Thanks

I would suggest a search about netcontacts / megaserve on this forum before deciding to go to netcontact / megaserve.

Just to keep yourself informed about them before making your choice.

Hi Gogga,

I'm with Eccsystems, I'm happy with them. You get what you pay for. What I mean by that is that if you pay for 128k you will receive that speed, no pooling, no cap. I had some downtime issues with them, but that seems to be sorted out.

Only thing they don't allow is P2P, but like I mentioned in another thread I managed to get it working on occations.

And yeah I have been quiet in here lately, but that is mostly due to the fruit exports getting busy.
