Spacebar gone spongy (MacBook Pro)

So... the spacebar on my MacBook Pro has gone "spongy", a retaining clip on the back of the keycap broken it seems - dome and scissor clips are fine. The machine is model MD101LL/A or 13" mid-2012 non-retina.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Like a kind-hearted soul who'll organise a dead keyboard, or just the keycap? I'm in Joburg.

Keyboard replacement is ~R2700 and you have to tear the machine apart to get to it, so I really don't want to do that. I know I can order keycaps online - but sadly we no longer have a postal service, so that's out.

PS: I don't type like the hulk and there's no liquid involved, so don't judge me harshly! :D

Have you tried the Core service centre in Geertsma Ave off jet park?

I had assumed Core would laugh me out of the building... Are they likely to be helpful with something like this?

Yes - if you stay close to the airport then go there directly and cut out the iStore.

Awesome, thanks for the advice! I'll head out there and see how it goes. Not exactly close, but nothing 30 mins and a few e-toll gantries can't solve. :D
