Hi Guys,

Can't comment for other ISP's as each may have their own differences.
However as resellers of IS products ourselves, we can vouch for these large capped account offerings from IS.

We have put these large capped IS accounts to the test, running 4 simultaneous connections on a single account and each ADSL line achieving maximum downloads during peak times all sharing one single account.
It's really impressive for the price and far superior to uncapped accounts, performance wise.

These accounts are generally provided as shaped but run unshaped most of the time.
Shaping will only apply should there be extreme network load and shaping is needed for that period of time.

Ping times are also as low as 10ms - 20ms, deepening of various factors of course.

Well, unlikely OpenWeb managed to get that much of a significantly better deal that theirs are 100% unshaped and unthrottled all the time?

I guess this above statement alone kinda just proves that OpenWeb aren't the most transparent / true to their word ISP out there.

From the article:

“There has been a shift in the market from uncapped to capped data over the last few months,” said Openweb founder Keoma Wright.

“OpenWeb has responded to this shift by launching a range of capped, unshaped packages that offer incredible value.”

That's great but not everyone wants this after hours crap. Not everyone wants to download at night. Hell, some people don't even download. Unpossible as it's sounds, I promise it's true.

Yes and then your customers suffer ...for something they pay a fixed price for and that they have no control over.

Your website says "No contracts! Month to month!" and then further reading reveals you require one calendar month's notice. That seems a little misleading.

Not directed at FlowISP, but this is what Afrihost used to say about their uncapped offering. Turns out there was extreme network load 95% of the time. Now I always read comments like this as "The accounts are shaped."

@FlowISP - it may be that you didn't test your site on high resolution monitors (I run at 2560x1440) but if I click on any item in your site navigation, the browser navigates to the new page, but there is no content at all, until I scroll down, which seems to trigger your infinite scroll loader. (which I only found by accident as I was about to close the page in frustration)

Thanks Siraman for picking up on the high res issue.
This has now been logged with our developers to sort out asap.
