Spammers trick Facebook and Twitter users

the third factor they rely on is just how dumb the average user is. Come on, how much common sense do you need to smell a rat?

Every time somebody "attaches" themselves to my Twitter account, I visit their account, and check what they have to say.

9 times out of 10 it's a twammer, and get blocked immediately. Had 2 this month alone, expecting that figure to increase sharply.

I have enabled URL preview on tinyURL, so if somebody will send me a malicious URL, I'll be able to pick it up before I go visit that.

So far I haven't been sent any funny stuff, and I don't click on links sent by unknown persons either.

I don't get twam because twats have to get pre-approved before they can follow my tweets :)

My, ... look what's happened to English! :D

Having worked in IT for 15 years and at various points having worked for callcentres, I really shouldn't be amazed by this level of incompetence, yet I still am.
