Speaker issue

I'm having an interesting issue with my speakers. I have a set of Creative T6060 5.1 speakers. However, it only uses the front speakers and the centre speaker (and the subwoofer), even if my sound configuration is set to 5.1 in Windows. Even games such as Counter-Strike Source (also set to 5.1) is fine in the speaker test until it comes to the rear speakers, where the front speakers say "rear left" and "rear right" as well?

Any advice? I've tried reinstalling the drivers of my Creative SoundBlaster Live 5.1 sound card but that hasn't helped. And the speakers are connected properly.

Had problems aswell. There was a forum of Creative covering everything. Can't remember the address.:o
 
My words may get mixed up someway, but here goes.

You can only use 2 channels in a windows environment. To listen to your music in 5.1 mode you have to download plugins for either media player or winamp. As far as I know, that's the only way.

Well then, I've looked through the Creative forums and the only reason I've seen for not getting the full six channels of audio was due to a lack of a sound card that supports 5.1. You sure you're connecting them properly?
 
Doesnt the speaker system console/remote come with a test (pink noise) option to check that all channels are operating?
If they are working then check the plugs connecting the card and speakers... if that right then check card etc etc ( start from one point, eliminating them as you go by. )

Ive got a logitech Z5500 connected to creative audigy 2NX over RCA and i have no probelms. Maybe its your "5.1" card

It is a "5.1" card :p It worked properly when I first bought the speakers, but with multiple formats and hardware changes I haven't really noticed that it doesn't until now... One day it worked, one day it didn't...

I've rewired my entire set and the problem persists and it is connected properly, as I said before. It's not a driver issue because I've always used the same drivers for my sound card and I always set up my Windows in the same exact way every time.

But hey, at least I get 3 channels :D

Ok, so we've eliminated, speakers; connections to speakers; 5.1 card; connections to 5.1 card; drivers..... hmm, something is wrong somewhere but if all the above is right then its has to be the pc, either that or wires have broken within the cables but i honestly dont know ne more... sorry :o
