Definitely Dion Wired. Good quality 1mm² stuff (not for ultra high-end systems but good enough for 99% of people), about R40 for 5m.

Any other place will rip you off massively with ultra sooper dooper gold covered, diamond-dipped, self-healing BS. Fact is only the super high-end speaker systems (R several hundred k+) systems are actually sensitive enough to warrant high-end cables.

I've found decent OFC speaker wire at ZAKspeed in Woodmead. The 3mm thickness is equivalent to 16-gauge and has worked fine for my home audio needs. They have 1mm, 2mm and 3mm and sell practically any length.

Probably depends on the individual requirement, but I'd guess for general home audio up to 10m, 1mm will do the trick and 2-3mm provide a little peace of mind

It may be worth checking the connection type where the wire will be used. Some ports (the place with the red clips where the wire is inserted into) might not have a big enough opening for 3mm wire

Thanks, never knew you could use cat5 for speaker cables. I have a whole box of cat5e at home, only issue is that I think it's cca. Will check when I get home.
