Suggestions re normal speakers plug-in for Probook 450 laptop...... pensioner price. My bluetooth packed up. Experience counts more than ads. Thanks peter

You need to give a bit more then that, what is your budget, what size? How do you want to use them? Why not headphones? But go to takealot and type in Microlabs, they still make PC speakers.

Thanks Lupus. Low budget (82 yr old crock) , size no issue, plug in use, not headpones.
Your tip Microlabs ... saw a few stereo speakers USB powered for <R300.
Looks like USB powered is the way to go?
Is 6W okay for classic music? Sterio or multimedia?
I wont bother you with more of my questions.

Depends how low you want to go onto the horrible tweeter range. R99 speakers are quite bad, but you should be ok if you look into microlab or similar usb speakers. Of course these will not give you a full sound stage as those mostly begins at the 1k zar range, well when I look at my Edifier replacements the shelve speakers was about R1700-ish and active sub R2500. However... let me se if I still have some of them in my list.

Seems like I'm talking about the R200-R400 range. I'm not 100% sure about their quality but I guess they are passable as ok:

and if you need a light show. haha

Ouch for classic music you're going to need to go a bit more then that, you will need to look at R400 or more. Though the Microlabs for R399 I have used them, they play rock reasonably well, but I've relegated them to my sons room.

What about a JBL bluetooth speaker? Sound quality is really good. Scratch that, prices definitely went up. I know I would not have paid that kind of money for my wife and daughters bluetooth speakers.
