Does anyone remember when a speeding fine is valid and not valid in reference to where the cross hair or targeting reticle must be pointed on your vehicle when they take a photo?

The cross hair on my fine is pointed on my rear window rather than near my number plate. I do believe that makes a fine invalid as pointing at a window would not give an accurate speed measurement? I remember Carte Blanche talking about this. Anyone help here?

The photo on the initial notice must have the inscription of the date time and speed.
This required by law (quote SABS Standard 1795 section 1 to 4: SABS 1795-0:2001 Part 5:
Mr Tom Dicker, senior advocate NPA; TCSP) states that the time, date and speed, must be taken simultaneously with the photo. Also required by law is the aiming cross, which must be between the lights of the car or on number plate.
