Speed fine on N1 Hanover

On 16 November 2019 travelling towards Jhb on the N1-10 bridge, I have not noticed any 80 speed limit sign. I received a notice that I have travelled 130km/h. What is the actual speed limit...?

PS: If busy crossroads, and pedestrians due to built up area but no barriers that would keep pedestrians away, it's always best to assume 80k/h is in effect unless the signage does in fact show otherwise

You say you didn't see any 80 sign, so I am concluding you didn't slow down (why would you?), and maybe you were going 130km/h before the populated section but after the speed limit sign.

They hide their car in a ditch on the northern side of the N10 bridge over the N1, and the camera is on the bridge above on the N 10. No one sees them. And yes it is a 80 zone and after that long stretch from Richmond, you have to be very vigilant otherwise you will miss the sign.

Very familiar with that part of the N1 and N10, it is where we turn off on the Bokfontein dirt road, to our overnight stop at a cousin's place, one of the worst dirt roads you can imagine.
Also the road to a farm called "driekoppen" where the current owner has one of the most impressive pubs full of Springbok memorabilia you can imagine.

I’ve gotten 3 fines in Hanover before. Two were within 20 minutes. 132 km and 131km.
Other one was a week later on my return trip.

I don't think you get a fine when going more than 30/40 than the speed limit. Might have to go to court.

No summons no payment needed that's how it works in cape town lol fines expire pretty quickly no if you dont get a summons.

On the topic of fines, has anyone been caught in the average speed zones. How does the fine work? Is it the same as a normal fine for going over the speed limit or is it just there to make it look like there is some sort of prosecution taking place?

I drove past there a few hours ago. From the cape town town side there is a 100 sign followed shortly by an 80 sign. So you have to use your brakes to get to 80 before the bridge where they sit. Was one guy on a fold up chair today.

It was on waze.

I see the Richmond camera is gone. Was another 80 on the N1 trap. Now it's just Kronstadt, Bloem, Hanover and ****ing Beaufort West...
