Speeding fine - Rates ?

The rates in JHB/PTA are:
11-15kM/h over R250/R125 if you pay within 30 days.
16-20kM/h over R500/R250 if you pay within 30 days.
21-25kM/h over R750/R375 if you pay within 30 days.
26-30kM/h over R1000/R500 if you pay within 30 days.
31-35kM/h over R1250/R625 if you pay within 30 days.
36-40kM/h over R1500/R750 if you pay within 30 days.
Over 40kM/h you have to go to court.

It can depends on the speed vs limit.. but i see the AARTO Guideline 2008 has the costs the same based on speed over. That being said the Municipality decides on the fee charged

Couldn't find their tarrifs but I did find this in their 09/10 annual report:


Seems people like speeding there.

Seems the metro here are really useless

Keep in mind Tshwane is less dense than CoJ and everything south of Samrand is CoJ which is a LOT of highway. 2ndly while people in Pta do speed, they don't seem to go bat crazy and try and break land speed records for their cars like they seem to do every weekend in southern Jhb
