Speeding Fine Reduction

So my friend got a speeding fine in the mail today, stating the "pay in 32 days, pay half" thing. I recommended him to go to the state prosecutor and rather get a fine reduction by explaining it is his first offense ect.

Now I have a few questions?

1) If he gets a reduction, will the 50% discount still count if he pays within 32 days?
2) Does he need to go to the state prosecutor in the district where he got the fine?
3) That fine can be payed at any police station right? :erm:

This is interesting! I got a R700 fine, don't know what its for as I got a mail from payfine notifying me! I clicked on the fine and it just says that fine can't be viewed..no photo nothing!

Why don't I get a 50% discount?
Must I pay the fine even though I don't even know that its actually my car - I've heard the scams?
Must I 1st request to see the fine details i.e 100 in a 60 zone or whatever?

The payfine info already displays the 50% reduction. Interestingly, the reduced fine amount discount still appears after 32 days. Who knows wtf is going on. Personally I won't be paying any fines till they introduce the demerit system. I have a feeling they'll offer some sort of mass discount if not withdraw most fines. Here's to hoping anyway.

PS. I don't pay any fines unless I can see a photo. These f@ckers take chances.

Same here. All the recent fines don't have photos. Screw them. I won't pay till I receive a summons.
