Sporty Car under 50k

Alfas lol - I was considering a newer 147 twinspark - SX has come down to 45k - so tempted

What about a VW Jetta/Golf VR6? My one colleague sold his 2 years back for R37000.

S13's are awesome!!!

I've got mine for 9 years, first car I ever bought. If you maintain it and keep it stock, you will never have any problems with it and its a great drivers car.

Paid R50k for mine some time ago and changed oil and oil filter every second month and never gave a problem in 6 and a 1/2 years.

Its difficult to find a clean one but I do see some on the roads.

The last 2 and 1/2 years, I decided to rebuild into a drift/track car.

Heres a few pics of it currently.

If you need more inspiration and you in JHB, come to the Rock Raceway on Wedensday nights for drift practice.

I have a runx rsi , 03 model and it has over 200 000km and I can tell you that it hasn't missed a beat:)
I think the modded ones are better because usually passionate fans buy cars like these and look after them way better than an average car.
Put it this way, I have a R400k Citroen DS5 and my R110k RunX RSi, the RSi parks in the garage and the DS5 in the carport....
I think if you are looking for an everyday car with decent performance, some features and some safety, this car would be hard to beat in that price bracket.
If for whatever reason you break your engine, I think they are around R17k for import motors. Otherwise take a warranty on it for safety and u sorted.

Would you trust any of the ones for sale on Scamtree for under R90,000 though? I agree it's a fantastic piece of kit, I'm a fan. But I would go for one that has been properly looked after, and those seem to all be out of his budget.

I would 2nd the MX6. I have one for many years now, hasn't let me down. But at this point I would suggest a mechanic check it first. I've said it before and will say it again, if it looks good, clean and will looked after then go for it. After so many years, still won't consider selling it.
