Spot

Thanks MTN DD for the info - What I am worried about is setting the camera up as a motion detector in an office (primarily as security at night) What happens during the day when someone walks past the camera and sets off the detector - The amount of sms's I will receive will be in the millions. Maybe I should be asking is how easy is it to switch between motion detector mode and log in only mode ? (as this will happen every morning and evening)

Can someone pls start from the beginning...what is this Spot thingy?...it sounds like I could really use it as a home security system

SPOT is a wireless video camera that sends live video images direct to your cell
phone via the MTN network using GPRS technology.
The camera can be used to protect and monitor the home, workplace or anywhere else you need.

The camera can be set by a switch on it to suit the user’s preferences.

So why continue to read the rest of the thread? Go read something that do interest you and leave the rest of us to decide for ourselves if we would like to follow the rest of the thread. I personally think that SPOT is very much about MTN Broadband (GPRS, 3G, HSDPA, etc).

well, SPOT seems to be a camera, which can send images to your cell phone via GPRS ...

MTN DD did start this thread with the info you desire but then "Moederloos" made a fuss about it and MTN DD decided to remove the info to get "Moederloos" off his case. The thread is now unanchored. Some people need their mothers ...
