Spotify bans all ad-blockers

Spotify has updated its Terms of Service to reflect its stance on ad-blockers.

The service’s new policy now explicitly states that blocking advertisements within Spotify can result in an immediate termination of a user’s account.

Some Spotify users have used modified accounts and ad-blockers to circumvent the advertisements being played

Modified how ?

I don't get this why go through all that trouble to save R60 or what ever dollar equivalent? I know people like free **** but wow

Turning a free account into a non playing adds account, essentially a paid account. I wondered how long this hack was going to last. Would however be nice if we had family plans in RSA instead of having two or more R60 p/m accounts.
Ok I thought in the article they state modified accounts and Ad-blocking as two separate infringements so was wondering what a modified account is on its own

Simplest application was just using opera before it came to RSA. What I did anyways before getting myself paid account on spotify.

“Spotify respects intellectual property rights and expects you to do the same,” it said

What does ad-blocking have to do with intellectual property rights? o_O AFAIK, even with ad-blocking, you don't have all the rights of a premium account.

Nice spot.

They also push video ads, which is very abusive behaviour on my cellular Internet. When I get such ad it piss me off that I am closing Spotify and get listen to some music downloaded on free WiFi from flamania.ru.
