Dude really, we can't have all our players playing every game. This is a good team that contains many players that might make the Bok team. We should look at all the options.

Yes I agree. This world and the selectors are not perfect :mad:
But my team selection is very VERY close to it. :D
As for every game?... I didn’t include my subs, can do if need be... BUT THIS IS ONLY FOR WORLD CUP 2011.
You can play any monkey for the rest of the season before then and I will not only not be mad, but actually glad :D

All players we have mentioned are there because of PdV specifically saying he would not select Bulls/Stormers players who were certainties for the Tri-Nations 1st team. Hence you cannot select:

As I said the rest of the season is of no importance! ONLY WORLD CUP VICTORY! As stated in my prev post they can field 7 Gio Aplon's and 8 Erl Roses for all I care, but REST is what all needed.

Dude, I am assuming tik is your drug of choice. For the one off test, that is my pick. I then stated that if my couch was brought to a stadium I could win a world cup, I did not say with that team. The the circumstances were he would not be picking any senior Stormers or Bulls players and that it was to see who would make up the rest of the 2011 squad. Now re-pick your side and see what you get.

I agree mostly but there are not enough BEE stars in there. Chilliboy will tour with so we will have 3 hookers. Sad but true :( What I don't get is if they have to pick so BEE guys why not pick the better of the two!??!?! FFs Pick Maku instead of chilliboy and hell JP Pietersen is also imo not the best wing.

It's getting silly. Frans Steyn is a very good player but he also seems to have an attitude problem. He leaves the impression that his boots need to be licked in order for him to consider playing for the Springboks. When the national coach have to chase a player down at a dairy farm in the Free State just to get his attention to play for his country, then I'm starting to shake my head. Then again, if it's true that SARU had trouble contacting Steyn in France.. then that's quite ridiculous too. Someone should tell them about this new thing called EMAIL. :)

Another laughable situation is Beast Mtawarira who wasn't considered for selection for the June Test because he doesn't have a SA passport. Perhaps he hasn't shown the best form lately but he did play in 22 Tests and have been living in SA for 5 years, and the Sharks have followed all the rules necessary for him to become a citizen. Yet the government is taking their time on the matter. Stofile is not exactly being helpful either.

I think there are undercurrents that we are not aware of and it is not Frans' fault. IMO some local agent is spreading malicious rumours as he wants his player in the squad i.s.o. Frans.

Frans Steyn has confirmed his availability for the Springboks in their test match against Wales in Cardiff on June 5, following a meeting with Springbok coach Peter de Villiers in Johannesburg on Friday.

The meeting included convenor of Springbok selectors Peter Jooste and Gerrie Swart, Frans Steyn’s agent.

“We discussed our relationship over the past few months and certain concerns of Frans were addressed and resolved,” said De Villiers.

“Frans confirmed his loyalty and commitment to the Springboks and people of South Africa and I can’t wait to see him back in green and gold.”

Steyn’s future availability for the Springboks will be arranged with his club, Racing Metro.

The meeting also discussed statements and documentary evidence submitted to De Villiers. He accepted the contents and apologised for any negative interpretations concerning the reputation and good name of Frans Steyn and Mr Swart, brought about by quotes attributed to him in the media. The apology was accepted.
