Spur Halaal?

So I went to a Spur today that has been closed for a while.

Ordered a Rib Burger and Beer.

"Sorry sir, we don't sell alcohol and pork anymore because we're halaal"

Is this ALL Spurs or just some? Guess i'll be finding another restaurant, just a pity as it was conveniently located.

Lol na bro before lockdown it was busy. it didn't survive lockdown it seems and now suddenly re-opened but with no pork (Ribs etc) and no alcohol can be sold nor consumed near the premises.

It's just some Spurs that choose to increase their target market in areas with high proportions of Muslim residents.

They give you beef rashers in place of bacon for breakfast and it's actually nice. I don't like streaky bacon, so this is actually fine. The steak is still **** though. You'd probably need a 500ml draught to wash it down.

They did reopen as soon restaurants could during lock down, but couldn't serve alcohol till that was allowed, Was their food so crap before that people only enjoyed it because they served alcohol?

They are doing this because the majority of the people living close to them are muhammadens, so they want their business. Money is the bottom line.

The Spur in Claremont (IIRC) is also strictly halaal. Southies subs fam had a kiddies party there... i never mind kiddies parties, but without castle, it was unbearable!

The owners of this particular Spur are Muslim - so this is their choice to run it as Halaal.
Same as the previous owners chose to run it as they did.
If you buy one you can run it as you wish to.
