Spur Incident

Ha Ha ha:D I feel the same way, I have been reading all the threads on this topic and quite frankly my dear, I don't give a damn !
Why ? Because I did not even bother viewing the clip. Scenes and scenarios like these happen on a daily basis i assure you, there is far too much impatience and hatred in this world. Bottom line is : Both parties are in the wrong and I really feel sorry for the Kids and the girlfriend who had to witness this - she must have been shocked and embarrassed - I would have walked out- Period !!

Do yourself a favour and watch the clip.

so his actions are more harmful than what she did to the child? :crylaugh:

he takes the childs arm, pretty slowly, SHE GRABS the child and pulls and stretches the child back. lol. like a rag doll..

but because he made contact with the child, hes the devil. haha.

typical to turn it around.

i wonder, who here as a kid, was given a smack on the bum or a scolding by a stranger for being a naughty ****, then taken to your parents and told you will get a hiding again from them. make no mistake you never do that again! happened to me in a caravan park in ceres, pine forest.

At 0:08, would anyone here describe that as Spur described as "aggressive"? It isn't that much different to when at 0:41 she grabbed its arm to show it off.

Probably not aggressive from my point of view but she could easily construe it as such if someone is making a grab for her child. What gives him the right to try and pull that kid anywhere when it clearly against the child's and guardians will? He has no right to lay has hands on someone else's child.

Also as I thought, they didn't release the full video (lets say from when he walked to the table).

Seeing that video makes me think she was the restraint one, because if anybody grabs one of my kids like that, I will beat you, and I will beat you badly. No matter your size. So yes, I would describe that as aggressive, you should not be grabbing other peoples kids. She should actually go lay a complaint with the police. Bloody barbarian.

Nothing wrong with seeing both sides to the story. Why are you OK with only seeing the result, and not the initial incident, which provides context?

All context went out the window when he grabbed someone else's kid. He is a danger to society, should ideally be locked up.

I agree with this and not just in this context. Social norms have changed a lot very quickly...I would not touch a child crying in a mall whereas ~20 years ago, adults wouldn't hesitate to pick the child up and comfort it.

Treating both sides fairly doesn't necessarily mean I am on his side. I am disgusted with his insistence that he thinks his kid should sort out her problems with violence. As is I am with her for saying that kids fighting each other is normal behavior.

If there is a sole reason for the violence in South Africa, it is parents like these two clowns.

Can I assume you don't have kids?

Happened to a good number of children...
BUT, I wouldn't allow such a situation these days unless the person was a good friend and well known to me and the kids.

That might have been acceptable in the 60's, but it is not now. I will discipline my kids when they are wrong, not some stranger. And no, my kids are disciplined before you comment on that.

Indeed, although I think a woman today could probably still do it without too many repercussions whereas a man.......not so much.

The video clearly shows the guy grabbing the kid's arm and pulling it forward. Regardless of what transpired before, the moment you grab someone's kid in front of them, you've crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Was that really a grab? Looked more like he took the kid by the arm! The mother were more violent than he was! Maybe she should be charged with domestic violence? ;)

Look at it in context. Her kid hurt his kid. What she should have said was, thank you. I will discipline my child, and you can discipline yours. Not to tell him to f**k off.

She can do that, but then that would involve doing an objective investigation overseen by a judge. Which would expose her brilliant parenting to the world. So she is actually being wise by letting this slip.

Agree, but her telling him to F*** off doesn't suddenly grant him the right to lay hands on her kid.

And you honestly think this neanderthal approached the woman in a respective manner to tell her about her kid? Yeah.

He conveniently didn't notice in the video the fact that they were pointing at it each the whole time, neither were calm. But that still did not give him the right to become violent.

him trying to take the child to his for what ever reason is wrong, the child is with the minder, the minder and the parent should have sorted this out at that stage. but we can see how well that went. the minder has NO parenting skills.

i remember kids ("friends") who used to brag about their parents always sticking up for them even if they are wrong. laughed about it. do something bad at school, the parents crap all over the school, kids cause nonsense somewhere the parents attack whom ever is complaining about the child. so wrong.
